As a teacher, one of our main concerns is getting the attention of the students. We know that when they are observing the teacher, they are learning and taking in information. A great way to grab their attention is through the use of visual aids.
Visual aids are great as they appeal to children’s sense of sight, one of the main senses children use to learn and develop. This also helps with those who are visual learners. Using visuals that incorporate pictures, colours and large graphics are great for early learners.
In addition, using visuals in the classroom serve as a constant reminder of what they are learning. For this reason, many classroom set-ups include mainstay visuals for days of the week, months of the year, colours, shapes and numbers.
Visual aids keep kids entertained and learning! Make sure your classroom has plenty of them.
